Fire Erupts at Nizam Palace's Staff Quarters in Kolkata
A fire erupted at Nizam Palace's staff quarters in Kolkata, quickly doused by three fire tenders. No casualties reported. Nizam Palace, a heritage building on AJC Bose Road, was acquired by the 7th Nizam of Hyderabad in 1933.

A fire broke out at the staff quarters on the sixth floor of Nizam Palace in Kolkata on Tuesday. Upon receiving the alert, three fire tenders rushed to the scene and managed to extinguish the fire.
Fortunately, there have been no casualties reported so far. Nizam Palace is adjacent to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) office, where Dr. Sandip Ghosh, former principal of RG Kar Medical College, was taken prior to the incident.
Nizam Palace, a tier A heritage building on AJC Bose Road in Kolkata, was constructed in 1933. Mir Osman Ali Khan, the 7th Nizam of Hyderabad, acquired the property as his Kolkata residence from an Armenian businessman, Johannes Carapie.
