Himachal Pradesh Offers Cheapest Electricity Rates for Industries

Himachal Pradesh continues to offer cheaper electricity rates to industries, despite rationalizing subsidies. Large industries will pay over Re 1 less per unit compared to Punjab, Haryana, and Uttarakhand. The state has also reduced electricity duty for industries with supply voltages of 11 KV and 22 KV, ensuring competitive pricing.

Himachal Pradesh is maintaining its competitive edge in industrial electricity rates despite rationalizing subsidies, according to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.

While large industries with supply voltages between 33 KV and 220 KV benefit from electricity prices over Re 1 less per unit than neighboring states like Punjab, Haryana, and Uttarakhand, smaller industries also enjoy reduced electricity duties, dropping from 16.5 percent to 10 percent for those with 11 KV and 22 KV supply voltages.

The Chief Minister reaffirmed that these measures aim to promote industrial growth without harming existing businesses, highlighting the state's commitment to fostering economic development and creating employment opportunities for its youth.
