Szczesny Returns to Action Amid Personal Lifestyle Choices
Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, reversing his retirement, joins Barcelona after Marc-Andre ter Stegen's injury. Despite his comeback, Szczesny insists on maintaining his personal lifestyle, including smoking, a choice he believes doesn't impact his on-pitch performance and is his private matter.
Famed Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has officially reversed his retirement decision to join Barcelona, stepping up as a replacement for the injured Marc-Andre ter Stegen. Despite this career shift, Szczesny remains steadfast in his personal life choices, including smoking, which he argues do not affect his professional performance.
In an insightful interview with Mundo Deportivo, Szczesny stated, "There are things that I don't change in my personal life, and it's nobody's business if I smoke. I believe that it doesn't affect what I do on the pitch; I work twice as hard."
He emphasized his commitment to being a role model for young fans, adding, "I don't do it in front of kids because I don't want to have a bad influence on them. However, public perceptions and candid photos from afar do not sway his personal resolve. "I've been this way my whole life," he affirmed confidently.
