Trump seeks Turkish assistance to Kurds after Syria withdrawal

The United States will condition its Syria pullout on a Turkish assurance to safeguard Kurds and also wants measures to protect withdrawing U.S. forces, President Donald Trump's national security adviser said on Sunday. John Bolton, briefing reporters during a visit to Israel, added that Trump "wants the ISIS caliphate destroyed," a reference to Islamic State militants in Syria who have been the focus of U.S. assaults.
