Unity Run Celebrates Sardar Patel Amidst Diwali Festivities

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the 'Run for Unity' marathon in Lucknow on National Unity Day, marking the upcoming 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The event, rescheduled to October 29 due to Diwali, saw substantial participation and underscored the significance of community engagement in national unity.

In a significant observance of National Unity Day, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath flagged off the 'Run for Unity' marathon in Lucknow on Tuesday. The event, which drew participants from various walks of life, highlighted the collective commitment of citizens towards fostering national unity and values.

This year's celebrations hold additional significance as the nation approaches the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Yogi Adityanath noted that the 'Run for Unity' not only symbolizes unity but also promotes health. Originally scheduled for October 31, the event was held earlier due to the Diwali festival on Dhanteras, October 29.

Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak and Union Home Minister Amit Shah were also present, emphasizing the nationwide observance in honor of Sardar Patel's legacy. Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiated the Unity Run in 2015, and it has since become a symbol of unity and progress, aligning with Patel's values and vision for a 'Viksit Bharat'.
