In Tamil Nadu's evolving political landscape, BJP leader Tamilisai Soundararajan has lashed out at the Congress-DMK alliance, labeling it as driven by vote bank politics. She predicts a coalition government by 2026, signaling shifting power dynamics. Soundararajan emphasized that historically, DMK has opposed Congress, noting the imprisonment of Stalin during the emergency period.

The demands for power-sharing have amplified after actor and TVK chief Vijay's public declaration supporting alliance collaborations. Tamil Nadu Congress General Secretary Saravanan recently penned a letter to Chief Minister MK Stalin urging for cabinet roles for Congress and its alliance partners, reflecting the sentiment of party workers.

Furthermore, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi, another DMK ally, echoed similar demands, emboldened by Vijay's statements at his party’s rally. However, Tamil Nadu Law Minister S. Regupathy critiqued Vijay’s Tamilga Vatri Kajhgam party, describing it as BJP's 'C team,' undermining the TVK's rally as more theatrical than substantive.
