A fire erupted at the Indian Oil Corporation's (IOCL) Vadodara refinery late Monday afternoon, following a blast in one of its benzene storage tanks, as confirmed by police authorities.
Though no casualties are reported, ongoing checks are being conducted to ensure no one is missing, according to Vadodara Police Commissioner Narasimha Komar.
Police, district officials, and senior IOCL executives are present at the scene, while local MLA Dharmendrasinh Vaghela reported a few minor injuries sent to hospital. The affected unit is isolated with all shifts evacuated, following standard safety procedures.
