Ayodhya's Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple mourns the loss of its chief priest, Acharya Satyendra Das, who died on Wednesday at the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences. His tragic passing followed a critical health emergency after suffering a stroke on February 3.
Following his stroke, the highly regarded priest was placed in the care of the High Dependency Unit at SGPGI's Neurology ward, where he was closely monitored by senior neurologists. Notably, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath personally visited the hospital to inquire about his health.
Just weeks before this unfortunate event, Acharya Das was seen celebrating the first anniversary of the Pran Pratishtha ceremony at Ayodhya Temple on January 11, reflecting on the occasion as a 'very beautiful' celebration. His passing marks the end of an esteemed chapter in the temple's history.
