Sebi Chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch asserted on Friday that the capital markets regulator finds no necessity in commenting on the recent downturn in small and midcap stocks.

Reflecting on her earlier remarks last March, Buch reminded the audience at an AMFI event about the regulator's past caution over high valuations in these segments, emphasizing that such statements are made only when deemed necessary.

Meanwhile, during the same event, Buch unveiled several initiatives: 'Chhoti SIP', aimed at democratizing mutual fund investments; 'MITRA', a tool to help heirs trace investments; and the 'Tarun Yojana', which integrates financial literacy into school programs for young learners.
