Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy finds himself embroiled in controversy following the SLBC tunnel accident, which left several people injured. In an official statement, the Chief Minister ordered a swift response from district officials and emergency services to manage relief efforts at the scene of the roof collapse.
Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy, along with Advisor Adityanath Das, were dispatched to the accident site via helicopter as part of the emergency response. In contrast, BRS working president KT Rama Rao criticized CM Reddy, demanding he take responsibility for the disaster and linking it to previous infrastructure failures under the Congress-led government.
KT Rama Rao further alleged systemic corruption, pointing to collusion with contractors and insufficient supervision as causes for the accident. He emphasized the need for adherence to construction regulations and called for a transparent investigation. Union Minister G Kishan Reddy also expressed concern and instructed officials to focus on rescuing anyone trapped inside the tunnel.
