Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar has raised alarms about Air India's service quality following its acquisition by the Tata Group, citing concerns that decreased competition among full-service airlines could foster complacency. His comments came after Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan experienced discomfort from a broken seat on an Air India flight.

In a social media post, Chandrasekhar remarked that the incident might have led to a public outcry if it involved someone other than the polite Chouhan. He criticized Tata's control for reducing consumer choice, urging immediate action from the Tata Group to avoid potential governmental intervention.

Meanwhile, Chouhan shared his experience of being assigned a faulty seat on a flight from Bhopal to Delhi, questioning Air India's management practices. Expressing disappointment, he mentioned that he expected service improvements under Tata's management but found this to be a misconception. Air India has since apologized for the inconvenience, as the Congress party highlighted ongoing issues in the transport sectors under the government’s oversight.
