Central Government to Present Manipur's Budget Amid President's Rule
In the latest budget session, the Indian central government plans to present Manipur's budget due to President's rule in the state. Various bills will also be tabled in Parliament, including the establishment of the 'Tribhuvan' Sahkari University. Violence in Manipur led to the imposition of President's rule earlier this year.

The Bharatiya Janata Party's Member of Parliament, Biplab Deb, announced on Monday that the Central government is set to present the budget for Manipur during the second part of the upcoming budget session. With President's rule in place in the state, the Central government assumes responsibility for presenting the budget.
The Parliament reconvenes as the budget session resumes, where significant legislative activities, including various bills and committee reports, will be addressed. Among them, the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, is expected to introduce the 'Tribhuvan' Sahkari University Bill, 2025, aimed at designating the Institute of Rural Management Anand as a university.
Following the imposition of President's rule on February 13, the legislative powers of Manipur have been suspended, with authority transferred to Parliament due to ongoing violence and unrest in the state. The unrest stemmed from ethnic clashes during a rally by the All Tribals Students Union in May 2023.
