Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has reaffirmed the government's commitment to fulfilling every promise made in its election manifesto. Speaking post the budget presentation by Finance Minister Ajit Pawar, Shinde emphasized their intent, stating the announcements were methodically planned for a five-year tenure.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also addressed concerns surrounding the 'Ladki Bahin' scheme, asserting that there had been no reduction in funding. He assured beneficiaries that provisions would be made to ensure each would receive Rs 2100 per month. Emphasizing fiscal prudence, Fadnavis noted the government's plan to provide 300 units of free electricity monthly and explore artificial intelligence applications to boost agricultural output.
Highlighting Maharashtra's economic strength, Fadnavis reported that the state's fiscal deficit remains at 2.9%, with expectations to drop further. Maharashtra leads in GST collections, and its loan eligibility has surged. The budget also focuses on empowering women through credit societies, with successful models in Nagpur inspiring future initiatives.
