APCID Grills Former YSRCP MP Vijayasai Reddy Over Kakinada Port Allegations

The Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department (APCID) has issued notices to former YSRCP MP Vijayasai Reddy, demanding his appearance for questioning concerning the Kakinada port case. Reddy has been instructed to meet investigators at the Vijayawada CID office on March 12 at 11 am. He faces allegations under multiple sections, including Sections 506, 384, 420, 109, 467, 120 (B), and 34 of BNS.
The investigation revolves around accusations of coercion and intimidation in the takeover of shares in Kakinada Port and Kakinada SEZ, valued at approximately Rs 3,600 crore. Complainant KV Rao accused Vijayasai Reddy, Vikrant Reddy, and Sarath Chandra Reddy of Aurobindo Pharma of forcibly acquiring his shares.
In a recent development, Vijayasai Reddy resigned from his Rajya Sabha seat. Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar accepted his resignation on January 25, citing personal reasons for his departure from politics. Reddy expressed his intention to pivot to agriculture following his resignation. He has been a significant political figure, serving as YSRCP's parliamentary leader in Rajya Sabha, playing a crucial role in maintaining state and national relations.
