On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was awarded Mauritius's highest civilian distinction, the 'Grand Commander of the Order of the Star and Key of the Indian Ocean.' Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla offered congratulations, highlighting the honor's significance for India's international stature.

This prestigious award emphasizes the historic and cultural ties shared by India and Mauritius. Union Home Minister Amit Shah lauded the announcement, noting it marks the 21st international recognition for Modi, underscoring his commitment to the philosophy of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' in international relations.

During the ceremony, Mauritius PM Navinchandra Ramgoolam acknowledged Modi's global statesmanship. The event, attended by both leaders, featured national anthems and celebrated India-Mauritius diplomatic bonds.
