Visibility on the Ahmedabad-Vadodara Highway in Gujarat's Kheda district has returned to normal after a hazardous incident involving an overturned acid tanker. The incident, which occurred Tuesday evening, led to significantly reduced visibility across a 12-kilometer stretch.
Kheda Collector Amit Prakash Yadav explained that the tanker contained Olium, a highly toxic chemical compound. As a result of its vapors, vehicle movement was halted to prevent accidents, with cooperation from municipal corporations and private companies swiftly restoring safety.
Local authorities evacuated surrounding villages as a precaution, with no injuries reported, though one person received a hospital check-up. Emergency fire services, including teams from Ahmedabad and Vadodara, used foam and water to minimize smoke and ensure the highway's swift reopening.
