Political tensions escalated in West Bengal after Union Minister and state BJP President Sukanta Majumdar accused the ruling government of executing 'Land Jihad' in North and South 24 Parganas. Majumdar alleged that Muslim leaders from the Trinamool Congress are coercing people to relinquish their land for minimal compensation.

Further intensifying the political strife, Majumdar labeled the state government as 'anti-Hindu' and accused Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of attempting to polarize the state. These inflammatory remarks come amid a backdrop of widespread allegations against the TMC's approach to governance. Majumdar, however, withheld comments on a controversial statement made by BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari until further discussions.

The controversy began when Adhikari alleged that the BJP would oust Muslim MLAs from the state government if victorious in the elections. This remark drew strong condemnation from TMC MPs, who dismissed these claims as communal and asserted that the BJP would not assume power in West Bengal. The ongoing political discourse highlights a charged atmosphere as assembly elections loom.
