A landslide in Pahalgam, Anantnag district of south Kashmir, injured three individuals after hitting a sumo stand on Thursday afternoon, officials confirmed. The stone masonry wall collapsed under the strain of continuous rainfall, striking a tea stall where the victims were present. Prompt rescue operations ensured all three were safely evacuated from the debris.

Srinagar experienced intermittent light rain on Thursday as low-hanging clouds enveloped the city. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted cloudy skies and sporadic showers in Srinagar until March 16. Despite the wet conditions, the city's old market areas remained lively, with residents navigating rain-soaked roads under umbrellas.

In a more cheerful development, Bhaderwah in Jammu and Kashmir attracted a significant number of tourists eager for snowfall experiences. The recent reopening of the Bhaderwah-Basohli-Pathankot National Highway has facilitated greater tourist access, leading to a boom in winter tourism activities in the region.
