Haryana Gears Up for Bumper Rabi Season with Robust Procurement Plans
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has directed officials to ensure timely procurement arrangements for the Rabi season 2025-26. With wheat production expecting a bumper yield, agencies are gearing up to meet a procurement target of 75 lakh metric tonnes. The state aims to support farmers with strong infrastructure and direct payments.

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has instructed various procurement agencies to finalize arrangements for the Rabi marketing season 2025-26 promptly. The aim is to ensure farmers face no difficulties in the mandis, a statement from the government informed on Monday.
According to briefing notes from a review meeting chaired by Saini, 30% of Rabi crops will be handled by the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department. Haryana State Co-operative Supply and Marketing Federation Limited will manage 40%, Haryana State Warehousing Corporation 20%, and the Food Corporation of India 10%.
With a bumper wheat harvest anticipated, Saini emphasized the need for adequate infrastructure in mandis. The Chief Minister outlined plans for sheds and other necessary facilities, aligning with this season's procurement target of 75 lakh metric tonnes for wheat alone.
