In a recent development in the 2020 Delhi riots case, Mohd Saleem Khan has petitioned Delhi High Court seeking interim bail to accumulate funds for his daughter's examination fees. His plea was previously dismissed by the trial court.

A division bench led by Justice Chadra Dhari Singh has assigned the matter to a special bench already handling his regular bail plea, emphasizing judicial consistency in addressing the case.

Scheduled for review by Justices Navin Chawla and Shalinder Kaur, the interim bail request arose from the need to prevent educational disruption for Khan's daughter due to unpaid fees. Khan's larger appeal against a March 2022 decision is still pending.
