Rajasthan Gears Up for Grassroots Sports Revolution

Rajasthan's Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma announced plans to establish village stadiums and a 20-crore Centre for Excellence in Jaipur, promising government jobs for athletes. At the 'Run for Fit Rajasthan 2025' event, efforts to boost sports culture, including incentives under the Target Olympic Podium Scheme, were highlighted.

In a significant move to bolster grassroots sports, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has announced that the government is poised to establish stadiums in villages across the state. Speaking at the 'Run for Fit Rajasthan 2025' program, CM Sharma emphasized the state's commitment to nurturing young athletic talent by offering government jobs and other facilities. He revealed plans for a 20-crore Centre for Excellence in Jaipur.

Addressing the gathering, Sharma stated, "Our government is steadfast in uplifting youth, women, farmers, and the underprivileged. Every player should have the opportunity to hone their talent through accessible sports infrastructure. I commend our athletes for their achievements in national competitions, which showcase their prowess on both national and international stages."

The 'Run for Fit Rajasthan' event was part of the festivities leading up to Rajasthan Foundation Day on March 30. Sharma inaugurated the program alongside Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore at Amar Jawan Jyoti near Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Certificates were awarded to gold medalists from the 38th national games held in Uttarakhand. Minister Rathore underscored the significance of fitness, advocating for community health through individual commitment.

Rathore highlighted the government's sports initiatives, including the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS), which has provided 30 crore in incentives to athletes. International athletes also received land leases under the Bhumi Aavantan Niti scheme, furthering the state's dedication to fostering athletic development.
