The Andhra Pradesh government has called off two significant pumped hydro storage power projects by Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) due to local challenges, a senior official announced on Monday.
Boundary disputes between the states of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha prompted AGEL to request the cancellation of these 1,200 MW and 1,000 MW projects, as stated in a government order.
After a detailed review, including consultations with stakeholders, the government has confirmed these cancellations, originally assigned during the previous administration. AGEL had cited difficulties due to the disputes and sought to adjust facilitation fees for other ongoing projects.
