Turkiye's Gas Pipeline Boosts Syrian Power Supply

Turkiye will begin supplying natural gas from Azerbaijan to Syria starting August 2 via the Kilis pipeline. This initiative, supported by Qatar, aims to increase Syria's electricity supply, enhancing power availability from three to four hours to ten hours daily, significantly benefiting the Syrian population.

In a strategic energy collaboration, Turkiye is set to commence the supply of Azeri natural gas to Syria starting August 2, as part of efforts to bolster the war-torn nation's electricity generation.

The gas will transit through the Kilis pipeline, with Qatar providing financial backing for the project, Turkiye's Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar announced.

By enhancing electricity access from a mere three to four hours to ten hours a day, this initiative is expected to vastly improve living conditions in Syria, officials stated during a briefing with the state-run Anadolu Agency.
