Rescue teams in Chile have uncovered a body in the rubble of the El Teniente copper mine, which collapsed after a 4.2 magnitude earthquake struck two days prior, according to the mine's director.
The collapse has left five miners trapped since Thursday evening. Efforts are underway to penetrate 90 meters of rock to reach them, with authorities yet to identify the body found most recently.
Paulo Marin Tapia, found Friday, was confirmed dead from the collapse. Nine others sustained injuries according to the National Copper Corp, Codelco, who linked the incident to the seismic activity.
