In a significant diplomatic engagement, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy met with New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy on the fringes of the PAFI Annual Conclave in New Delhi. The discussions centered on enhancing bilateral relations in software, technology, life sciences, urban transport, and the film industry, according to an official release from the Telangana Chief Minister's Office.
Governor Murphy expressed his support for CM Reddy's 'Telangana Rising' initiative, highlighting the synergies between New Jersey and Telangana. The two leaders committed to dispatching trade delegations to each other's states and boosting investments to harness economic and job growth potential.
The New Jersey Governor also pledged significant support to Hyderabad's transport infrastructure via the NJ Transit Authority. CM Reddy thanked Governor Murphy for bolstering Hyderabad's metro and MMTS public transport systems. Additionally, Chief Minister Reddy invited prestigious institutions from New Jersey, such as NJIT, Princeton, and Rutgers, to consider establishing satellite campuses in Hyderabad, promising governmental support for such ventures.
Meanwhile, CM Reddy called upon British firms to partner in the Musi Rejuvenation project aimed at enhancing Hyderabad's global stature as a top living destination. British High Commissioner Lindy Cameron met with Reddy to discuss initiatives to expand Telangana's manufacturing sector and investment landscape.
