In the wake of violent protests linked to the 'I Love Mohammad' controversy, Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, remains under tight security as law enforcement strives to maintain order. This follows the recent unrest, demanding significant police attention and intervention.
Deputy Inspector General of Police Bareilly, AK Sahni, affirmed that the situation is "completely normal," with foot patrols and route marches ensuring continued peace. Precautions include the deployment of ten companies of the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC), complemented by CRPF and local district forces, to oversee the upcoming Dussehra festivities.
In a crackdown on unrest instigators, police have arrested 81 individuals, notably including IMC's National General Secretary Nafees Khan and his son. They are implicated in orchestrating last week's protests, motivated by inciting tensions, rendering strict security measures and temporary internet shutdowns crucial to restoring and maintaining city stability.
