A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) delegation, spearheaded by Kerala State President Rajeev Chandrasekhar, convened with President Droupadi Murmu at the Raj Bhavan in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday. The meeting aimed to highlight public grievances related to several issues, notably the Sabarimala gold theft incident, according to an official party communiqué.
The delegation included prominent figures such as former Kerala Governor and BJP National Executive Committee member Kummanam Rajasekharan, ex-Union Minister V. Muraleedharan, former State President K. Surendran, State General Secretary Adv. S. Suresh, and former DGP and BJP State Vice President R. Sreelekha. In a symbolic gesture, they presented President Murmu with a replica of the Anantha Padmanabhaswamy Temple.
This visit follows the October 17 apprehension of Unnikrishnan Potti, the primary suspect in the Sabarimala gold theft case by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) assembled by the Kerala High Court. In parallel developments, the Travancore Devaswom Board announced the appointment of Prasad E.D. and Manu Namboothiri M.G. as the new head priests of the Sabarimala and Malikappuram Temples, respectively, chosen via a traditional lottery held at the temple's sanctum.
