Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha paid tribute to the indomitable role of the nation's police and security personnel at the Police Commemoration Day event held at the Manoranjan Debbarma Smriti Stadium in Agartala. CM Saha lauded their contributions in safeguarding public safety, national sovereignty, and integrity.
The Chief Minister highlighted that the entire nation reverently observes Police Commemoration Day on October 21, paying homage to martyrs who have valiantly sacrificed their lives for the country. He acknowledged the continued efforts of the Armed Forces, Border Forces, and Police in ensuring national security and sovereignty.
Recalling the historical significance, CM Saha mentioned the 1959 Hot Springs incident in Ladakh, where ten Indian police personnel were martyred by Chinese forces. Since 1961, this day is observed nationally as Police Commemoration Day. In Tripura, the sacrifices of Constable David Darlong and Jawan Milon Debbarma were specifically honored for their service.
