A dense blanket of fog shrouded Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Saturday morning, complicating life for daily commuters with dangerously low visibility conditions. Locals expressed concern as vehicles barely visible just feet away posed significant risks to early morning travel.
Despite the early hours lessening the immediate impact, residents reported that, as the day progresses, conditions typically improve. "It's very foggy today," one local resident mentioned to ANI, noting the potential for accidents. Businesses, particularly auto drivers, have suffered disruptions, struggling to navigate the fog-obscured roads.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has projected stable temperatures with morning fog expected throughout the week, maintaining night temperatures in the 10 to 11 degree Celsius range. Moradabad's air quality remained moderate, recording AQI levels between 100-250. Conversely, New Delhi struggled with 'very poor' air quality, registering an AQI of 359 despite a minor improvement from the previous day.
