The Ministry of Education is set to unveil the fourth iteration of Kashi Tamil Sangamam (KTS) on December 2, an initiative designed to celebrate the historical ties linking Tamil Nadu and Kashi. This event, rooted in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision, aims to honor cultural and linguistic connections between these regions, a testament to the 'Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat' ethos.
The event, as detailed in a press release, is being coordinated by prestigious institutions IIT Madras and Banaras Hindu University (BHU), with support from various ministries and the Government of Uttar Pradesh. Since its commencement in 2022, KTS has successfully rekindled interest in India's ancient cultural narratives, drawing significant public participation. The upcoming edition promises enhanced exchanges in education, culture, and youth engagement.
This year's theme, 'Learn Tamil - Tamil Karkalam', underscores the aim to popularize Tamil language learning. Over 1,400 delegates spanning categories like academia, arts, agriculture, and spirituality will embark on an eight-day cultural tour. They will traverse historical sites and engage in seminars and artistic exhibitions celebrating India's classical heritage.
