On Friday, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, alongside Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, inaugurated the Earth Summit 2025-26 at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar. This two-day event, co-hosted by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) and the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI), focuses on fortifying India's rural economy.

During the summit, Union Minister Shah underscored the government's commitment to transforming rural sectors into key contributors to the national GDP. He announced a significant budget increase for the Ministries of Rural Development, Agriculture, and Cooperation since 2014 and introduced technologies designed to integrate rural cooperative banks with modern banking frameworks.

The event witnessed the launch of multiple initiatives, including the 'Sahakar Sarathi' digital services suite. The summit gathered a diverse group of leaders, experts, and innovators discussing how small rural innovations could drive global changes. Attendees included Gujarat Legislative Speaker Shankar Chaudhary and State Agriculture Minister Jitu Vaghani, among others.
