In a major travel disruption, Chennai Airport saw approximately 48 flights cancelled on Saturday due to ongoing logistical challenges, grounding flights to significant domestic cities including Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru. The situation has left passengers stranded and searching for alternatives as the airport struggles to manage the chaos.

IndiGo, the airline with the most affected flights, announced that the cancellations are predicted to stretch until at least December 10, extending stress for travelers. Alongside this, flights to Cochin, Thiruvananthapuram, and Kolkata also faced similar fates, exacerbating the situation.

Meanwhile, some relief was seen in the operation of smaller ATR aircraft, which continue to serve select regional destinations. However, passengers using these services are still subject to a Rs 1,500 service charge. The airport authority advises passengers to verify flight schedules through their respective airlines and suggests rescheduling or refund requests aligned with the airline's policies.
