Sayyid Munavvar Ali Shihab Thangal, a leader of the Indian Union Muslim League, has issued a clarification concerning his daughter's controversial statement on women entering mosques.
His 16-year-old daughter, Fatima Nargis, recently conveyed that preventing women from mosque entry was a cultural issue that needed reform, stirring debate.
Thangal, emphasizing his role as a father, highlighted that her comments represented an impulsive reaction rather than a scholarly understanding of Islamic jurisprudence.
He stressed that her views don't reflect the established beliefs of the Muslim scholarly community in Kerala. IUML state president Sayyid Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal urged against escalating it into a controversy.
