In response to a devastating water contamination incident in Indore that resulted in multiple fatalities, Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao emphasized the necessity of Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi's visit to the area. Rao highlighted the moral obligation of the opposition leader to connect with the victims' families and understand their grievances, criticizing the BJP for their perceived indifference. The visit, scheduled for January 17, has been bolstered by a Congress-led protest, demonstrating the party's unwavering commitment to addressing the crisis.

Key figures in the protest included PCC Chief Jitu Patwari and Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar, who condemned the BJP's lack of accountability.
