In a bid to enhance transparency and fairness in its Tatkal ticket booking system, Indian Railways has introduced Aadhaar-based One-Time Password (OTP) verification for online reservations. This move aims to curb fraudulent activities and ensure uniqueness in user accounts by preventing automated misuse and proliferation of fake accounts.

Key security measures also include the deployment of application-level controls such as CAPTCHA mechanisms to thwart scripting, Brute-Force, and DDoS attacks. Additionally, Indian Railways employs a Content Delivery Network (CDN) to manage website traffic and advanced anti-bot solutions to filter non-genuine users, thereby safeguarding genuine passenger transactions.

Furthermore, measures like Deep-Dark Web Monitoring and Digital Risk Protection, alongside comprehensive cybersecurity infrastructure, provide robust security for the reservation system. Critical systems are hosted within a secure, certified data center in New Delhi, with integration to CERT-In for continuous threat monitoring, reinforcing the rail network's resilience against cyber threats.
