Union Coal and Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy has offered reassurances regarding India's petroleum product availability amidst the current armed conflict in West Asia. In a recent statement, he emphasized that the nation is equipped to manage the crisis without any disruptions in supply.

Reddy highlighted India's standing as the world's fourth-largest refiner and fifth-largest exporter of petroleum products, while also being the third-largest importer. He noted that India has ample crude oil stocks, including petroleum products like petrol, diesel, and Aviation Turbine Fuel, mitigating any immediate concerns.

The Modi government's strategic focus on diversifying oil import sources and increasing domestic production has bolstered energy security. A multi-ministerial team actively monitors imports and exports, ensuring continued supply, as the Petroleum Ministry establishes a 24x7 control room to oversee stock levels and distribution.
