In a significant move, Britain's energy regulator Ofgem announced on Thursday that it has granted an electricity supply license to Tesla Energy Ventures Limited, a subsidiary of the renowned electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla.
The license, which permits the company to supply power to both households and businesses across the UK, took effect on Wednesday following a thorough assessment process extending over several months.
Ofgem clarified that this authorization pertains solely to electricity supply activities and remains separate from an existing generation license held by Tesla Motors Limited, marking a crucial expansion in Tesla's energy operations.
