A fire broke out Thursday morning at the Trade and Tax Building in New Delhi's ITO area, causing alarm amidst a recent series of blazes. The incident occurred just a day after a deadly fire claimed nine lives in a residential-cum-commercial structure in Palam.

Emergency response teams, including six fire tenders, were deployed to handle the situation as the fire was reported on the 12th floor at 8:26 am. The Delhi Fire Service swiftly brought the blaze under control, and fortunately, no casualties have been recorded. Investigations into the cause of the fire are currently underway.

Meanwhile, the Delhi government has pledged financial aid to those affected by the Palam tragedy that took place earlier, with compensation of ₹10 lakh for deceased adults' families, ₹5 lakh for deceased children, and ₹2 lakh for those seriously injured. Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended profound condolences, authorizing an ex-gratia of ₹2 lakh from the National Relief Fund for next-of-kin and ₹50,000 for those injured.
