Drone Strikes Disrupt BP-Operated Oilfield in Iraq
Two drone attacks on BP-operated North Rumaila oilfield in southern Iraq injured three workers. These strikes followed another drone hit on storage facilities near Basra, impacting foreign oil companies. The attacks did not affect operations; however, foreign staff were evacuated after earlier incidents.
Two drones attacked the North Rumaila oilfield operated by BP in southern Iraq, injuring three Iraqi workers, according to security and energy sources.
The incident occurred shortly after another drone targeted storage facilities west of Basra, which are utilized by foreign oil companies, sources reported.
Despite the drone strikes focusing on an equipment storage unit, operations in Iraq's vast Rumaila oilfield were unaffected, as confirmed by two Iraqi engineers working at the site. Following a prior drone strike, foreign personnel had been evacuated from the location, as per sources last month.
