In a heartfelt address to the nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi underscored the enduring significance of India's Beating Retreat ceremony, a key component of the Festival of the Republic held each January. PM Modi lauded the exemplary performances by the country's military and security forces during the 2026 ceremony.
The ceremony, which took place at the iconic Vijay Chowk, marked the conclusion of the 77th Republic Day festivities. Distinguished guests, including President Droupadi Murmu and Vice-President CP Radhakrishnan, witnessed breathtaking performances by bands from the Indian Army, Navy, Air Force, and Central Armed Police Forces.
The event commenced with 'Kadam Kadam Badhaye Ja,' followed by a medley of Indian tunes. The ceremony's music, reflecting India's rich musical heritage, will soon be accessible to the public via WAVES OTT and other platforms, further instilling pride in the nation's armed forces.
