The upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC) on May 1 and 2, 2026, at AURO University, Surat, promises to spotlight Gujarat's significant strides in industrial and infrastructure development. A key highlight will be the state's burgeoning investment opportunities in sectors like infrastructure, transportation, and advanced technology.

In a notable advancement, the high-speed rail project connecting Ahmedabad and Mumbai is progressing well. The National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has entrusted the design, manufacturing, and maintenance of these trains to BEML Limited with a single tender. This move aligns with India's vision for self-reliance, or Aatmanirbharta, as future trains aim to be entirely 'Made in India'.

The ambitious rail endeavor features a 508-kilometre corridor through Gujarat, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, and Maharashtra. In the recent Union Budget, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman unveiled plans for seven new high-speed rail corridors, including routes like Mumbai-Pune and Delhi-Varanasi, enhancing connectivity across India while promoting environmentally sustainable transport.
