The Delhi Police Crime Branch successfully apprehended the notorious leader of a Mewat-based burglary ring, bringing an end to an intense three-year pursuit across state lines. The elusive kingpin, Arman, aged 26, was arrested following a high-stakes operation that spanned multiple regions.
Arman, a native of Nuh, Haryana, was the architect behind a series of sophisticated high-profile 'uprooting' heists primarily targeting mobile stores throughout the Delhi-NCR area. His criminal endeavors include a daring raid on a Delhi Cantt showroom in January 2023, where his gang utilized a vehicle with counterfeit plates to loot premium stock. While many of his accomplices were apprehended in 2023, Arman had successfully evaded capture until now, ultimately being declared a Proclaimed Offender by the Patiala House Courts in June 2025.
The breakthrough came through a specialized team led by ACP Umesh Barthwal, which tactically utilized an undercover officer familiar with local Mewat customs. This officer, operating covertly for six months, gathered crucial intelligence that, when combined with technical surveillance measures, facilitated Arman's capture on April 29, 2026. The arrest occurred near the Nuh Court Complex as Arman ventured alone from his village, ensuring the team acted before his network could offer aid. His arrest lays the groundwork for further investigation into other unsolved heists across the region. Arman's capture marks a significant achievement for law enforcement and ends his longstanding criminal enterprise.
