OMFED Hikes Milk Prices Following Cost Surge
The Odisha State Cooperative Milk Producers' Federation (OMFED) has raised milk prices by Rs 4 per litre due to increased processing and transportation costs. The new rates affect toned, premium, gold premium, and gold premium plus milk and aim to benefit farmers by offering them higher procurement rates.

The state's Minister of Fisheries and Animal Resources Development, Gokulananda Mallik, announced the revised prices: toned milk now costs Rs 54 per litre, premium milk Rs 58, gold premium Rs 60, and gold premium plus Rs 64, effective Sunday.
Mallik emphasizes the price hike supports farmers by purchasing milk at higher prices while ensuring quality remains uncompromised. The cost for a litre of cow and buffalo milk procured from farmers has also been increased by Rs 1 and Rs 1.60, respectively.
