The Somasamudra Phase 1 solar PV plant in Karnataka has been successfully commissioned, marking a pivotal development in India's renewable energy sector. Spearheaded by Climate Fund Managers and Ampyr Energy, this project is set to generate over 118 GWh of clean electricity each year.
The initiative, which will prevent around 97,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually, underscores the powerful partnership between the European Union and India in advancing global energy transition. The solar plant supports efforts to shift from fossil fuels to more sustainable energy solutions.
This project, part of the Ampyr Renewable Energy platform, supported by the EU-backed Climate Investor One Fund, represents the fourth completed venture in a series aimed at scaling renewable infrastructure across India. The EU and Climate Fund Managers are committed to further accelerating investment in India's renewables sector.
