Tamil Nadu's freshly appointed Chief Minister, Vijay, on Monday paid a visit to the residence of Naam Tamilar Katchi Chief Coordinator Senthamizhan Seeman in Chennai. In a cordial gesture, Vijay draped a golden shawl over Seeman and presented him with flowers, receiving Seeman's felicitations in return.
Earlier, Vijay held a meeting with the state's former Chief Minister and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) leader M K Stalin, and former Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin at their residence. This meeting marked Vijay's inaugural interaction with the senior DMK leaders following his assumption of office as Chief Minister, post the establishment of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) government in the state.
The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) clinched a significant win in the recent elections, securing 108 seats in the Assembly. The party, despite falling short of the majority threshold of 118 seats, obtained essential support from other political entities such as the Congress, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi, Left parties, and the Indian Union Muslim League. This coalition enabled Vijay to form the new state government.
