In a significant move, the foundation stone for a Rs 16,000 crore Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) infrastructure project was laid in Sri Sathya Sai district, Andhra Pradesh, marking a historic milestone in India's defense capabilities.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu officiated the ceremony, heralding the project's role in enhancing India's self-reliance in defense technology. Singh highlighted the development as a pivotal stride in reducing India's dependence on foreign arms and supporting domestic production.

Additionally, the formation of a 'Drone City' in Kurnool and multiple defense manufacturing initiatives will drive Andhra Pradesh's role in the defense sector, augmenting the region's potential as a military-industrial hub.
