Minor girl allegedly raped by neighbour for a year in Gurugram

A man has been accused of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl over a period of one year in Gurugrams Sadar police station area, police said on Wednesday.Based on a complaint filed by the victims mother, Sadar police station registered a case under the POCSO Act and relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita BNS, and launched an investigation, they said.According to police, the complainant alleged that a young man from the neighbourhood sexually assaulted her minor daughter from March 2025 to March 2026.

A man has been accused of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl over a period of one year in Gurugram's Sadar police station area, police said on Wednesday.

Based on a complaint filed by the victim's mother, Sadar police station registered a case under the POCSO Act and relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and launched an investigation, they said.

According to police, the complainant alleged that a young man from the neighbourhood sexually assaulted her minor daughter from March 2025 to March 2026. She alleged that the accused assaulted the minor when she resisted, and threatened to kill her if she told anyone.

After enduring the torture for a year, the victim recounted the ordeal to her family, they said.

''The accused has been identified. Further action will be taken based on evidence uncovered during the investigation,'' a senior police officer said.

Efforts are underway to arrest the accused, he said.
