In a significant move towards sustainable mobility, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini called for a sweeping transformation of the state's public transport landscape. Emphasizing the urgent need to cut down on petrol and diesel consumption, Saini directed the Transport Department to devise a future-centric, comprehensive route plan to ensure every village and urban area in Haryana enjoys seamless bus connectivity.
During a high-profile review meeting on the Transport Department's five-year roadmap, part of Haryana Vision-2047, Saini stressed the urgency of fulfilling the growing demand in nearly 6,500 villages. He advocated for strategic planning to bolster public transport accessibility, highlighting benefits for students, women, and professionals.
The Chief Minister further outlined plans for integrating electric buses, enhancing passenger safety with real-time tracking, and strengthening infrastructure across districts via the PPP model. The comprehensive strategy aligns with national green mobility objectives while seeking to revitalize intra-city transport networks and modernize bus stands with advanced amenities.
