Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has ushered in a new era with Harsh Malhotra taking the helm as the newly appointed President. On Thursday, Malhotra committed to fortifying the party's presence in the nation's capital, building upon the foundation laid by his predecessor, Virendra Sachdeva.

Malhotra's appointment follows the BJP's landmark return to power in Delhi, breaking a 27-year hiatus, a victory he attributes to diligent efforts of party members and strategic leadership. At a press conference, he expressed gratitude for the backing of the party's national leadership, emphasizing his desire to push forward the groundwork set by Sachdeva.

He likened his new role to a 400-meter relay, saying, “Today, Virendra has handed the baton over to me.” Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and other significant leaders extended their congratulations to Malhotra, affirming his capability to strengthen the party organization and lauding the achievements of outgoing president Virendra Sachdeva.
