Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar declared on Thursday that Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge is set to file his nomination for the Rajya Sabha elections on Friday. The announcement comes as Congress gears up for a significant political showdown with Rahul Gandhi also expected to make an appearance at the filing.
Shivakumar, reflecting on his initial days as Chief Minister, expressed commitment to fulfilling the promises made under his leadership alongside the Congress party. He emphasized the consistent expectations since the start of his tenure while lauding BK Hariprasad for his steadfast contributions as the Karnataka Congress chief.
The Congress has unveiled its candidate list for the upcoming biennial elections and bypolls to the Rajya Sabha from five states, including Mallikarjun Kharge from Karnataka. Other notable candidates are Pawan Khera, Meenakshi Natarajan, Praveen Chakravarty, and Pranav Jha, with the elections slated for later this month following the Election Commission’s notification.
